Weaving & Fiber Dyeing are BACK, along with a New Drop Spindle Workshop for Summer '06

SummerArts 2006
Fiber Arts coming to The Bronx

We're excited! We have Betty Vera returning to teach both her beginner's weaving class AND a fiber dyeing class using Procion MX fiber-reactive dyes. Participants will get to paint warps on harness looms. A great start to SummerArts 2006.
Betty will be joined by Angela Ferber who has a great beginning spinner's class using a drop spindle and Angela has agreed to host a Kool-Aid dyeing workshop. So if you ever thought you wanted to learn to weave, to spin or to dye fiber or fabric now's the time.
We'll keep you posted on our other instructors and their courses, and don't forget to email us so we can send you the SummerArts 2006 brochure when it's hot off the press.

I did not know there were classes like this in the Bronx. Where exactly is Bronx Community College?

Bronx Community College is in west Bronx, right off 87 (the Deegan). The campus once was NYU uptown. The campus houses the Hall of Fame and has landmark buildings. By public transportation use the #4 IRT and the #3 bus stops right at the main gate.
